Case study: scholarship help
Pushing a pram and a shopping
trolley at the same time and doing the shopping, all at the same time, is a
difficult task for any parent or carer.
So Jennifer Lake invented the Bug-Grip, a clamping device to attach prams or pushchairs safely and securely to one another, or to super-market trolleys. Parents who have more than one child can couple different makes and models of prams together, without having to invest in a double buggy.
Through BBV, Jennifer received a scholarship from the New Entrepreneur Scholarship Programme, which provides a comprehensive package of support, mentoring and funding to encourage and support the start-up and growth of new businesses. Jennifer is grateful for the support and advice from business advisers at BBV in helping and motivating her to establish her own business. So she attends BBV training sessions and shares her experiences with business start-ups.
Bug Grip is undergoing rigorous test at the moment. Jennifer hopes to have the product in the shops by March next year.
